| Hello everyone. It is a great honor for us to be in charge of the 33rd Annual Meeting of JSG, and at the same time, we feel a great responsibility. Of course, it is my hope that the COVID-19 pandemic will converge and welcome you to Niigata, but at present, it is completely unpredictable. Therefore, at the same time as the local event at the Niigata City Cultural Center Ryutopia, which is adjacent to the most historic and beautiful place in Niigata City, we would like to proceed with preparations considering the possibility of a hybrid event. The theme of this meeting is "Let's chew, taste and talk about gerodontology in Niigata" with the wish to discuss together and enjoy the deliciousness of Niigata, as well as the thoughts on oral function that supports the health and quality of life of the elderly. Of course, even if it is a hybrid event, we will do our best with you with the support of JSG so that we can achieve that wish as much as possible. We hope that you will experience the development of JSG that meets the demands of hyper-aged society and the rapid globalization of gerodontology in this meeting, and that it will be the place where you can share your vision and knowledge.
